SKILLS COMPETENCY SYMPOSIUM

Aerotechnics Ltd Kenya in partnership with the International Federation of Airworthiness ( IFA) and Nairobi Institute of Aircraft Maintenance (NIAM)has organized a virtual symposium on skills and competency gaps for Aircraft Engineers and Mechanics. The virtual symposium will be held on 10th September 2024 from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm Kenyan time.

The symposium aims to foster discussions on the skills gaps in our Graduate Aircraft Engineers and Mechanics, how this affects their global competitiveness and to propose strategies for building capacity to meet the dynamic market demands. We have invited panelists from training institutions including the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) Kenyatta University, East African School of Aviation (EASA) and other Aviation Colleges across the African region. Operators invited include Kenya Airways, Jambo Jet, 748 Air Services, Tropicair, KLM, Rwandair, Air Serv Uganda, Precision Air – Tanzania among others. The host CAA, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and relevant government Ministries and Departments are also invited.

On the international front, we have invited the IFA President, CAA international in the UK, De Havilland Canada, Canadian Embassy in Kenya, UK recruitment firm – JMC Aviation, JD AERO Canada, AERO Bildungs GmbH of Germany, LRTT Resource Group of UK, among other international agencies. The Guest Speakers will be Professor Ian R. McAndrew PhD FRAeS and Prof. Tilmann Gabriel, MBA FRAeS Capt.(ret).
